Found this Gang Starr Step in the Arena poster and had to share it. Chrysalis and Cooltempo ran it back in 1991 to push “Just to Get a Rep,” off the Premier and Guru album that helped shape that jazz-boom bap sound.
You don’t see a lot of this stuff anymore. Most of it got tossed, taped up on record store walls and thrown out after the campaign ended. A Gang Starr Step in the Arena poster like this one is a real piece of paper from a Hip Hop era that didn’t leave much of a paper trail. No backup on a server somewhere — if it didn’t get saved, it’s gone for good.
