The other night I was subjecting my girl to low-grade torture by watching YouTube rap videos in bed, something I don’t recommend you do if you’re trying to have a healthy relationship.
After I finally got Chanell’s attention, I told her I had to show her this Detroit artist I just discovered, Bruiser Wolf. I described him as a doper version of E-40, that’s no knock to the Bay legend.
Chanell locked in, and she started reacting to Bruiser’s slick delivery and wordplay as we went track after track, letting out a chuckle when she heard, “First nigga that cooked dope in an air fryer.” She described it as spoken word meets BabyTron, and that breakdown stuck with me.
