How Bruiser Wolf Took Over My Night
The other night I was subjecting my girl to low-grade torture by watching YouTube rap videos in bed, something I don’t recommend you do if you’re trying to have a healthy relationship.
After I finally got Chanell’s attention, I told her I had to show her this Detroit artist I just discovered, Bruiser Wolf. I described him as a doper version of E-40, that’s no knock to the Bay legend.
Chanell locked in, and she started reacting to Bruiser’s slick delivery and wordplay as we went track after track, letting out a chuckle when she heard, “First nigga that cooked dope in an air fryer.” She described it as spoken word meets BabyTron, and that breakdown stuck with me.

A New Voice Out of Detroit
Bruiser is a refreshing voice Detroit needs. He has been making noise around the city as one of the standout members of Danny Brown’s collective, Bruiser Brigade.
With recent love from Kevin Durant and Jalen Rose, Bruiser is working his way toward becoming another important name on Detroit’s long list of dope artists.
Highlights From Kid L’s Couch
If you’re unfamiliar with Bruiser Wolf, he sat down on Kid L’s couch for an interview. Here are some of the highlights:
• Kevin Durant’s co-sign, during a conversation with Cade Cunningham, where he called Bruiser Wolf his favorite new Detroit artist, drove up merch and vinyl sales and boosted his visibility.
• Bruiser Wolf owns all his music rights, which lets him license tracks for profit instead of splitting revenue with labels, keeping control and income in his hands.
• Success brought both attention and trolls, and Bruiser learned that once you reach a certain level, mixed reactions come with it, especially when your style stands out.
